Straw vending is one of the oldest professions in The Bahamas and there are straw markets Downtown Nassau, Cable Beach, Paradise Island and also on many of The Family Islands. Vendors in the Straw Market sell straw bags, straw hats, straw dolls, t-shirts, magnets, key chains and a host of other goods and souvenirs.
