Historic Two-Ship Call Signals Growing Partnership Between Nassau Cruise Port and Margaritaville at Sea
Nassau Cruise Port (NCP) hosted a vibrant cultural celebration, “Junkanoo and Chill,” in honor of a historic milestone for Margaritaville at Sea, as the Islander and Paradise made their first-ever two-ship call to a single port.
Approximately 120 crew members from both vessels were welcomed shoreside for an immersive Bahamian experience designed to celebrate this achievement while strengthening the growing partnership between Nassau Cruise Port and Margaritaville at Sea.
The event featured complimentary refreshments, a brief welcome ceremony, and an engaging presentation on the rich history and cultural significance of Junkanoo—The Bahamas’ most iconic festival. Crew members also participated in an interactive Junkanoo dance class, which built excitement leading into a hands-on Junkanoo rushout, where they experienced the rhythms, movement, and artistry that define this beloved tradition.
“This milestone visit represents an exciting chapter for NCP and Margaritaville at Sea,” said Mike Maura, Jr., CEO & Director. “We were proud to mark the occasion by sharing an authentic piece of Bahamian culture with their crew. Experiences like ‘Junkanoo and Chill’ not only celebrate important moments but also deepen the connection between our port, our partners, and the people who bring these voyages to life.”
The two-ship call underscores the continued growth of Margaritaville at Sea and its commitment to The Bahamas as a key destination.
Margaritaville at Sea will make 79 calls to Nassau Cruise Port in 2026, with plans to increase that number in the years ahead, reinforcing a strong partnership and sustained destination demand.
Crew members expressed enthusiasm for the experience, highlighting the opportunity to engage directly with Bahamian culture in a meaningful and memorable way.
Nassau Cruise Port remains committed to creating unique, culturally rich experiences that celebrate The Bahamas while reinforcing strong partnerships with cruise lines and their teams.
