Nassau Botanical Gardens

An eight-minute drive and 32-minute walk from The Port, this peaceful 18-acre garden is home to over 600 species of tropical flowers and plant life. The gardens also boast the National Flower of The Bahamas, the beautiful Yellow Elder, and were once the old rock quarry that supplied stones for construction in Nassau, including construction of Fort Charlotte. Nassau Botanical Gardens was opened when The Bahamas became Independent on July 10th 1973. Today, Nassau Botanical Gardens are not only a quiet retreat for nature lovers, but various Public events and activities are also held among the beautiful landscape.
