Nassau, The Bahamas (November 26, 2024) – The Nassau Cruise Port Ltd. (NCP) team continued its[MN1] commitment to community outreach by donating food to Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Bain’s Town for Thanksgiving. The donation was the result of a company-wide competition among NCP staff members, organized by the Human Resources department.
This act of giving builds upon NCP’s ongoing support for Mt. Olive Baptist Church, which began in 2022 when the company stepped in to assist the church after a theft of meat and freezers[MN2] . Since then, NCP has continued to support the church’s valuable work in the Bain’s Town community.
The donated food will be used to support Mt. Olive’s monthly dinner for the elderly and its weekly feeding program, which provides meals to those in need. Grateful for the donation, Rev. C.B. Moss shared how the ministry first connected with NCP and the impact of the donations received.
“On behalf of the Mount Olive Baptist Church leadership and the Bain’s Town community we serve, we thank you for this generous donation,” said Rev. C.B. Moss, senior pastor of Mount Olive Baptist Church. “For thirty-eight years, we have been feeding this community, and each year we host a major event for senior citizens. Hundreds attend, enjoying a scrumptious meal, gifts, music, and entertainment. It’s a joy to see the senior citizens having a good time.”
Moss continued, “Every week, we serve hundreds, and this is made possible by generous donors[MN3] like Nassau Cruise Port. We are truly grateful! It’s wonderful when sponsors make it possible for us to serve the community. Despite the reasonably good economy, many people are still suffering, as we see each week. However, we’ve been able to meet each challenge with the help of sponsors like yourselves.”
