It’s In Our Hands
Preserving the natural beauty of The Bahamas for future generations of Bahamians, cruise passengers, and visitors to enjoy is at the forefront of how we manage our business.
We have incorporated various sustainability features into the design of our facility and our daily operations. Here are a few highlights of our environmentally-friendly activities that affirm our commitment to keeping our environment clean, blue, green, and pristine:
We incorporated the following eco-friendly elements into our $300 million redevelopment effort:
- Production of 1 MW of Solar Power to support local power provider distribution
- Full facility LED lighting
- Low water usage factored into all buildings and facilities
- Full facility recycling
- Incorporation of new green space into the downtown area
In June 2022, we launched our environmental sustainability brand, “It’s in our Hands,” to ensure that we strategically incorporate environmental management into our operations and to promote environmental awareness in our community.
- We introduced three hybrid-powered trams to the port to transport passengers to and from cruise ships
- Our 25-foot boat, Pier Pressure, collects and removes garbage from the harbour daily and to searches for environmental hazards so that they can be mitigated or reduced as quickly as possible
