Congratulations to Lutaire Gustav, our Facilities Department Employee of the Quarter!
Born in Abaco, Bahamas, Lutaire relocated to Haiti as a child. As a young adult, he pursued a medical degree at the Université de la Fondation Dr. Aristide (UNIFA) for 3 years. Despite his unwavering dedication, financial constraints interrupted his pursuit and his medical journey was cut short. While in medical school, however, Lutaire explored other talents, delving into the art of video production and mastering the piano. He was well known in his local community for playing in churches and competing in music competitions.
In 2018, he returned to New Providence where he gained employment in various roles. Now working at Nassau Cruise Port, Lutaire is focused on his professional growth. His manager, Lionel Turnquest, Director of Projects and Facilities, sees his dedication and keen sense of focus as key attributes that contribute to his success.
“Lutaire is a hard worker, very team-oriented, and willing to assist wherever he is needed,” said Turnquest. “He also encourages his colleagues to stay motivated and is extremely reliable and committed. We applaud his dedication and enthusiasm and thank him for his support.”
Lutaire’s new dream is study Media Technology at The Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute and eventually earn a Master’s degree.
When asked what he enjoys most about working at Nassau Cruise Port, Lutaire shared that he truly loves the collaborative work environment that the team has created. He added that “As a Christian, I love everyone around me. I respect my colleagues as they do me. The Golden Rule is a staple in my daily life.”
